Rita Cholewa entered eternal life on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Felix Cholewa; Loving mother of Jeff, Cyndi (John), Mike and Pam; Dear grandmother of Jacob, Kenny, Kimmee, Joey, Kari, Destiny, Zack, Khloe and McKenzi; Dear cousin and friend to many.
Rita had a very full life and touched many along the way. From her “coffee clutch” group when she lived in Bensenville, to the members of 3 churches she attended over the years, to all the Girl Scout lives she enriched while volunteering as a leader and in many other roles, and most recently the residents of Emerald Village where she lived. Rita was happiest when she was helping others and sharing her time with friends and family. Amongst her Girl Scout friends she was lovingly known as Grumpy which was her favorite of the seven dwarfs. Rita loved Lucy and would watch reruns of the “I Love Lucy” show often. Her grandchildren remember playing a Disney game with her, as well as, many Yahtzee games.
Rita will be remembered by many for the ways she so lovingly touched each of our lives. In lieu of flowers, donations to the parkinson’s foundation in Rita’s name by making a tribute gift, at parkinson.org/ways-to-give or by calling 800-473-4636, are greatly appreciated.
