Loving daughter of the late Frank and Mary Mandolini; Dear sister of Barbara and Linda (Dale) Michel; Fond foster sister of Carole and John; Dear aunt of Brian.
What can I say about my beloved sister…Rosemarie Mandolini. She was known as RoRo or Rose to our family and as Rosie to most everyone else she knew. No matter how anyone referred to her she was always full of positivity and love. She was a pillar of strength, constantly amazing everyone with her energy and ability to overcome adversity and bounce back from everything. She was always willing to give of herself to others when the situation arose (including myself). She found her strength in God and grew in faith following His plan till he decided to call her to Him. She worked in the service industry all her life. She loved taking care of people as well as animals. Rose worked at Marshall Field’s restaurant, Carrington’s, Chicago Prime, and Schaumburg Marriott to mention a few. Most often she worked 2 to 3 jobs. She was never idle, the energizer bunny. Everyone admired her strong work ethic. In her later years, due to ailments, she worked at Starbucks and most recently at Full of Beans. She was so loved by all who worked with her, as well as the entire community, and their beloved dogs that she would bring daily treats paid for with her own hard-earned money. She helped all kinds of pets and people right up to the day she passed, leaving all of us feeling lost and empty. She will truly be missed in this earthly world, but she will make heaven a brighter place as the angels wrap their arms around her. Recently, Rose gave up her garage space to help a homeless woman and her dog. She took them off the streets and gave them shelter, sacrificing her own comforts to help someone more in need. This is just one example of her unselfish and caring behavior. She has done things like this her whole life for many people and strays. She was a caregiver to our aging parents tirelessly taking care of them in their final years. She was a cat mom to many strays, including Dixie and Smudge! In the past 8 to 9 years there has been an extraordinary bond with Lucy Cat. Lucy is also grieving RoRo’s passing.
If you met her once, you were no longer a stranger. She developed lifelong friends who adored and loved her and vice versa! She had the ability to build relationships. If you were family or friend, Rose would do anything for you. She was honest with people, and they soon found out they could trust her. No mater the time of day or the lengths she would go to, she was there to help whatever the problem or situation, she was that person that would get you through adversity. She found the good in everyone, and she was not judgmental towards anyone or anything. She could get angry, but only in a way that she would not hold back from telling people the truth. If you had it coming, she would let you know. But God blessed her with a way to manage her anger in a way where she was forthright, and people understood the message she was sending. She never carried a grudge and was always quick to forgive. I always said She was aptly named “Rose” because she looked at life “through rose colored glasses”. The glass was never half empty, but half filled. I worried that people might take advantage of her extraordinary kind nature and if it did happen, she would let her angst be known. She was respected and any situation would be resolved. Everyone learned from the experience, and lessons were learned and friendships were reconciled and moved forward with happy hearts. The beauty of forgiveness.
RoRo was loved by many She had a loving happy and hope filled heart. She loved her family deeply, her friends and every animal she encountered. She loved life and lived it to the fullest Rosie will be
remembered in the best way. Her good nature, her energy that lit up a room, and a wonderful personality that drew the best out of everyone makes her so unique. People genuinely loved her, they
were drawn to her, she had a strong presence, and everybody looked forward to seeing her. She touched many live as an amazing.
