Stella R. Applewhite of Aurora, IL passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.

The daughter of Dorothy Applewhite, Stella was born on May 16, 1958, in Chicago, IL. Stella was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt cousin, and friend, and she will be missed dearly. She is survived by her two loving sons, Rickey Applewhite (Kendra) and Corey Applewhite of Illinois, her mother Dorothy Applewhite, and her grandchildren Jeremiah Torres and Carter Applewhite. In addition, she leaves behind her four sisters, Barbara Dillard (Benjamin) and Dorothy Applewhite, both of Illinois; Sandra Applewhite and Carolyn Jackson (Bruce Lee), both of Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Stella was predeceased by her brothers, Derrick Applewhite and Daniel Applewhite.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Living Word Christian Center, 7600 Roosevelt Road, Forest Park, IL 60130. Stella’s Homegoing and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 11:30 a.m. at Living Word Christian Center immediately following visitation. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
