Marsha L. Long was called home to our Lord on September 26, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones at 77 years of age. Marsha was born to Martin and Helen Gleason on August 21, 1943, in River Grove, IL. She lived in River Grove and Elmwood Park most of her life, later moving to Arlington Heights after retirement then settling in Poplar Grove for her final days.

Marsha worked for years as an administrative assistant in a nursing home in Oak Park and volunteered in the Arlington Heights senior center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music, watching her favorite TV Shows: Ellen, Blue Bloods and Two and a Half Men, and enjoying various movies.

Marsha was a loving mother and grandmother. Marsha is survived by her three children, Kathleen (Philip) Raby of Palatine, IL; John (Shannon) Long of Poplar Grove, IL; and Dennis Long of Glendale Heights, IL; her nine grandchildren: Sean, Caitlin (Raby); Nicollette (Rocky), Johnny, Brianna, Nick, Colleen, Jack (Long); and Madison (Long); along with two great grandchildren: Mia and Jake (Nicollette). Marsha joins her parents, Martin and Helen, and her brother, Martin Gleason Jr., in heaven.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 3, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Salerno’s Galewood Chapel, 1857 N. Harlem Avenue, Chicago, Il. 60707. A funeral mass will be held that same day at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cyprian’s Church, 2601 Clinton Street, River Grove, Il. 60171. Marsha will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery following the mass. A luncheon to follow at Elmcrest Banquets, 7370 Grand Avenue, Elmwood Park, Illinois 60707. On behalf of the family, we would like to extend this invitation to join us for lunch as a celebration for the life of Marsha.
