Alberto Pellegrino

Alberto Pellegrino, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on September 2, 1936, in Cerisano, Cosenza, Italy, Alberto's journey was one marked by love, family, and an enduring spirit.

In 1963, Alberto immigrated to the United States, bringing with him dreams and aspirations that he built through hard work and dedication. That same year, he married his loving wife, Concetta Pellegrino. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home for their family, instilling values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of tradition in their children.

Alberto was a man of many passions. He found joy in gardening, nurturing plants as he nurtured his family. His love for wine making and salami making reflected his Italian heritage and served not only as hobbies but also as means to bring friends and family together over shared meals and laughter.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Concetta Pellegrino; his sons, Pete Pellegrino and Frank (Daniela) Pellegrino; and his cherished grandchildren, Alexis (Ryan), Nicholas (Alicia), Annalisa and Gianluca Pellegrino. Brother-in-law to John (Maria) Passanante, along with many nieces and nephews who cherished his presence in their lives.

Alberto was preceded in death by his siblings: Enrico, Filomena Greco, Dominic, Francesco, Giuseppe, Luigi, Antonio, Ida Provenzano, Maria Pellegrino, and Fortunata Aiello. They welcomed him on the other side with open arms, reminding all of us that family bonds transcend even the boundaries of life.

Services honoring Alberto will be held at Salerno's Rosedale Chapel in Roselle, Illinois, with visitation taking place on May 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass will follow at St. Isidore Parish in Bloomingdale, Illinois, on May 27, 2025, at 10:45 AM. He will be laid to rest with dignity at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums in River Grove, Illinois after the services.

The legacy of Alberto Pellegrino will continue to live on through the hearts of those who loved him. He leaves behind memories of laughter, warmth, and the rich flavors of home. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
