Aldo “Al” Consiglio passed away unexpectedly at home on March 28, 2026. He was 79 years old. Born in the Bronx, New York, on December 4, 1946, Al carried with him throughout his life the values that defined him most: loyalty, humor, dependability, and deep devotion to family. He graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School in North Tarrytown, New York, in 1964 and went on to attend Manhattan College in Riverdale, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1968 and took part in ROTC. Never one to stop learning, Al later completed his MBA at the University of Connecticut. In 1973, he moved to Chicago, a decision that changed the course of his life. There he met Patricia, and together they built a marriage of nearly 50 years and a home in Elk Grove Village, where they lived for 47 years.
Al enjoyed a long and successful career in the electronics industry, with some of his most notable work at Fujitsu and TRW. He approached his work the same way he approached life: with intelligence, dedication, and quiet reliability. Outside of work, Al was unmistakably himself. He was a lifelong diehard New York Yankees fan, loved the music of Frank Sinatra, and had a true passion for history. A trip to any museum with Al meant stopping to read every plaque, every timeline, and every detail. He was curious, thoughtful, and loved learning. But more than anything, he loved his family. He was a proud Dad and a deeply cherished Papa, roles that brought him immense joy.
Al is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his children, John (Giuseppina) and Gina; his grandchildren, John Jr. and Giuliana; his sister, Donna (Vincent); his brothers, Anthony (Toni) and John (Andrea); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends whose lives were made better by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Aldo and Carmela Consiglio.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels in Roselle, Illinois. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, followed by interment at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Those who knew Al will remember his humor, his loyalty, his love of family, and the steady way he showed up for the people he cared about. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and countless memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
