Born on July 2, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edmund and Wanda Gorczynski, Alice lived a life defined by resilience, independence, and unwavering love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward "Bud" Lowden; her parents, Edmund and Wanda Gorczynski; her brother, Edmund "Sonny" Gorczynski, and his wife, Florence; and her dear daughter, Barbara Sabel, and son-in-law, Edward Sabel.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Paulette Czech; her grandson, Seth Sabel, and his wife, Amorette Sabel; and her treasured great-granddaughters, Grace Kronfeld, Emma Kronfeld, and Hanna Kronfeld, who were the light of her life.

Alice had a remarkable zest for life. She was known for her razor-sharp memory, quick wit, and spirited personality that kept everyone on their toes. She loved a good card game and rarely turned down an opportunity to play Pinochle, Bridge, or Cribbage. An avid reader, she could often be found with a good book in hand, and she believed in staying active, exercising nearly every day for most of her life. Her determination and discipline were just a few of the qualities that helped her live such a long and vibrant life.

More than anything, Alice treasured time with her family. Whether it was sharing stories, enjoying grocery shopping trips, or happily finishing a generous plate of crepes, she found joy in life's everyday moments. She had a way of making people laugh, speaking her mind with honesty and humor, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Alice remained fiercely independent throughout her life and was able to spend her final days in the home she loved, surrounded by family, exactly as she wished. Though she will be deeply missed, her strength, laughter, wisdom, and the countless memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
