Allen Eugene O'Day, 73, of St. Charles, IL, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 16, 2025 in his room at the Grove of Fox Valley.

Allen, also affectionately known as "Gene", was born in Pheonix, Arizona on July 14, 1951.

In 1952, his parents, Johnie and Elsie O'Day, moved with Allen and his older brother, Ed, to Long Beach, California, where they grew up. They were blessed with the addition of their younger brother, Johnie O'Day, Jr. and sister, Pam O'Day soon thereafter. Allen and his siblings were rambunctious and created many memories growing up. He always loved reminiscing and sharing stories from his childhood. It always brought a smile to his face and a sparkle to his eyes.

Throughout his lifetime Allen traveled all over the United States as a truck driver. In 2014 he decided to make Chicago, IL his home where he lived out the rest of his life. One of his many interests was collecting things. Over the years he built quite the collection of baseball cards, rocks, coins and more.

Allen is survived by his daughter, Christina Cuthbertson; son, Joshua Devon; brothers Edward O'Day and Johnie O'Day, Jr.; as well as his grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and long-time friend, Ron Keen.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Johnie and Elsie O'Day; and sister, Pam O'Day.

Allen served his country proudly in the United States Army. His services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery located at 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL 60421 at 2:30 pm.  Please arrive by no later than 2:15 pm at the cemetery.
