Amalia "Lia" Pietrobon

Amalia G. Pietrobon, age 88, of Addison, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025. She was born in Liedolo, Treviso, Italy and immigrated to America shortly before her 21st birthday. Beloved wife of the late Olivo Pietrobon whom she married on October 23, 1959. Devoted daughter of the late Narciso and Maria Tolmer. Loving mother of Loretta (Marty) Skerjan. Adored grandmother of Jenna (fiancé Ryan Halim), Allie and the late Nicole Skerjan. Dear sister of the late Lena (Genio) Baggio, Renata (late Vince) Aballini, the late John (Adriana) Tolmer and Franca (Bruce) Kauke. Aunt and friend to many.

Amalia’s greatest joy in life was helping others, especially her family. Amalia developed many friendships over the years by being a great listener and she was always willing to offer a friendly smile. Amalia enjoyed the simple things in life including gardening, cooking, spending time with family and friends and of course visiting the casino. She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who always put others before herself. She will be deeply missed and remembered by many.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her caregiver, Shimley, as well as the Residential Hospice team, and all her friends and family that supported and visited her during her almost five-year cancer journey.
