Nina Loquercio was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She went to her eternal home on August 6, 2023 at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family. She had been living at Victory Centre of Bartlett IL for the past five years.
Nina was born on September 5, 1932 in Chicago IL to Anna Loquercio and Vito Tenerelli. As a young girl, Nina enjoyed spending time with friends, hosting sleepovers and visiting Chicago beaches. She attended St. Columbkille in Chicago and worked at Extension Magazine after graduation.
In 1950, Nina and her family moved to Franklin Park IL. Soon after, she met Nino Loquercio, and they married on September 4, 1954. Over the next 11 years, her and Nino welcomed three children and built a new home. This is the home that became the heart of the family – where homemade pizzas and Pizzelles were made and Christmas seafood dinners were hosted.
As Nina grew older, she cherished her time with her family and grandchildren. Her door was always open. Everyone knew they could count on Nina to have a pot of coffee and a plate of pastries ready. In her free time, she enjoyed watching ice skating, doing ceramics and crocheting. She was also a follower of Jesus.
Nina was predeceased by her husband Nino Loquercio in 1994. She is survived by her sister Mary Gajdos, three children Rosemary (Bob), Michael (Diane) and Victor (Lori), eight grandchildren Valerie (Corey), Robert (Maria) and Christopher (Morgan); Michael (Ashley), Alexandria (Mike) and Elizabeth (Nick); and Anthony and Alena, as well as many great grandchildren.
Mass is scheduled at 10am on Thursday, August 10 at Resurrection Parish in Bartlett IL. The family asks that any charitable donations be made to Elara Caring at
