Anthony "Tony" Amodio, a man whose life was a tapestry woven with the threads of deep connection, unwavering determination, and boundless love, passed away on May 26, 2026. Born on July 31, 1957, Tony's journey through life was marked by his enduring passion for the natural world and an unyielding commitment to those he held dear.
Known for his stubborn spirit balanced by a heart as huge as the skies beneath which he hunted and fished, Tony was a beacon of loyalty and warmth. His days were often filled with the joyful company of friends and family, as he was always making plans, always reaching out—always connecting. To share time with Tony was to be enveloped in a presence that was both steadfast and generous, a rare combination that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
His greatest joys flowed from the outdoors, where the thrill of the hunt and the competitive field of tournament bass fishing became more than hobbies—they were expressions of his soulful communion with nature. Yet, Tony's passion extended beyond personal pleasure; he was a devoted volunteer with Safari Club International, a conservation organization, and Helluvahunt, an organization dedicated to enabling handicapped hunters experience the outdoors. This commitment reflected the very essence of Tony's character—a man who carried compassion and generosity like a badge of honor.
Tony leaves behind a loving family who continue to carry his spirit forward: his devoted wife Anna Amodio; their children, Mario and Rosalina Amodio; and his cherished grandchildren Wyatt, Colette, and Mila. Each one a testament to his legacy of love, laughter, and enduring bonds that transcend the passage of time.
The community will come together to honor Tony’s memory with visitation at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake St, Roselle, Illinois. The visitation will be held on May 28, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM, followed by a viewing on May 29 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Tony's funeral service will commence immediately thereafter at 10:00 AM, a gathering to celebrate a life lived fully and fiercely.
In remembering Anthony "Tony" Amodio, we remember a soul who was never content to simply exist but chose instead to live, to love, and to connect. A man who understood that the truest measure of life is found in the hearts we touch and the memories we leave behind. His story is one of devotion—to family, to friends, and to the wild places that spoke to his soul—and it is a story that will live on in every whispered breeze and every cast line on a quiet lake.
