Carol Mullally Parquette, born October 10, 1964, in River Grove, Illinois, was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She passed away on April 22, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and countless memories that will be cherished forever.
Carol graduated from Mother Guerin High School in River Grove and went on to build a dedicated 25-year career with McMaster-Carr, where she was known for her strong work ethic and loyalty. Her greatest pride, however, was being a mother to her two sons, Christopher and Matthew, whom she raised with endless love and devotion as a single mother. Later in life, becoming a grandmother brought her even more joy, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Carol had a vibrant personality and a way of making people feel welcome and loved. She enjoyed bowling, live music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted fan of The Walking Dead, Dr. Oz, Stephen King novels, the Chicago Cubs, Thomas Kinkade artwork, and working on puzzles. She was also a lifelong animal lover and a proud cat mom to her beloved cat, Hank, who brought her constant companionship and happiness.
She will be remembered for her generous heart, quick wit, and the way she could light up a room with her smile and laughter. Carol especially loved the holidays, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. She found so much joy in spoiling her grandchildren with sweets, gifts, and love, creating memories they will carry with them always.
Family meant everything to Carol, and she was surrounded by a large and loving one. She is survived by her sons, Christopher (Christy) James and Matthew James; her stepchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Parquette and Lisa Parquette; her sisters, Linda (Ken) Miles and Joanne (Tim) Pell; her brothers, David Mullally and Dennis Mullally; her stepmother, Valerie; her beloved grandchildren, Ryder, Tyler, Gigi, Bri, Donovin, and Mia; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Parquette and her parents, Francis Mullally and Joan Mullally.
Visitation will be held on May 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 PM at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake Street, Roselle, Illinois 60172. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
