Charles J. Georgas, Sr., age 99, passed away on April 20, 2025, in Elmhurst, Illinois. A proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Charles lived a long and accomplished life marked by dedication to his craft and devotion to his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia A. Georgas (née Ringler) and the loving father of Charles Jr. (Patricia “Trish,” née Niemeck) and the late Claudia Artos. He was a cherished grandfather to Charles W. and Christopher Georgas, Sarah (Shaun) Safi, Ashley, and Corey Artos. Charles was also a dear brother to Victor (late Marlene and Irene) Georgas and was preceded in death by his brothers Jack (late Doris) and Paul (late Mary Catherine) Georgas. He was a fond father-in-law to James Artos and his wife Judy, and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Charles graduated from Hammond High School in Hammond, Indiana, in 1944 and went on to earn his degree from the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts in 1949. He dedicated many years of his professional life as a master sculptor at Henri Studios in Palatine and Wauconda, Illinois, where his artistry left a lasting impression. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St., Roselle. The funeral will take place on Saturday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Isidore Church in Bloomingdale for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
