Charles L. Streu, 79, passed away on February 22, 2025, in South Elgin, Illinois. Born on September 27, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, Charles lived a life marked by generosity, kindness, and deep devotion to his family and those around him.
A beloved husband, father, and papa, Charles was cherished by all who knew him. His warmth and unwavering support made him a pillar of strength for his loved ones. He was deeply respected by colleagues and friends alike, known for his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. His generosity knew no bounds, and his presence brought comfort and joy to many. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Streu; his sister, Jeannine Flolo; his daughters, Laura Streu and Donna Foster; his grandchildren—Nick Velarde, Kevin Foster, Jessica Reynolds, Stephanie Fashoda, and Savannah Foster; as well as eleven great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and kindness will live on through them. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake Street in Roselle, Illinois. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Salerno’s followed by procession and burial at Fairview Memorial Park, 900 N Wolf Road in Northlake, Illinois.
