Daniel L. “Dan L” Davis, a devoted husband, father, uncle, and friend, departed this world on September 25, 2025, at The Radcliff in Wood Dale, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and unbridled joy.
Born on April 24, 1938, in Waycross, Georgia, Dan L carried the warmth of his Southern upbringing with him wherever he went, turning every gathering into a celebration of friendship.
For more than four decades, Dan L poured his heart into the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, retiring as International Vice President of Railroads in the United States and Canada. His leadership championed safety, fairness, and opportunity for electricians across two nations.
Outside of the office, Dan L could always be found shuffling a deck of cards, proudly displaying his John Wayne memorabilia, or aiming for a strike at the bowling alley. An avid golfer, he lived for the perfect swing—and believed any place, any time, was an excuse to dance.
Dan L served honorably in the United States Army, embodying the values of duty and camaraderie that would shape every corner of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen Davis; his son, Brian Davis (Royce Vanlandingham); his sister, Mary Tanner (Darrell Tanner); and many nieces and nephews who will forever remember his laughter.
In honor of Dan L, the family invites donations to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund (curealz.org)
