David Lee Pamment

David Lee Pamment of Hanover Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, just two days before his 73rd birthday.

David was born on August 10, 1953, in Lansing, Michigan. He dedicated more than 30 years of his professional life to the Kmart organization, beginning his career at the historic S.S. Kresge dime store and working his way up to General Manager.

David was devoted to his family. He was a loyal husband, a proud father, and a loving grandfather who would do anything for the people he loved. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years; Denise, his daughter, Sarah, his son Andy, and his cherished grandchildren; Peter, Amanda, Heidi, and Owen. His greatest joy came from spending time with them, especially at the family’s lake house, where countless memories were made with family and friends. More than anything, David fought like hell to keep his family together, and his unwavering love and dedication were evident throughout his life.

David was also a dedicated Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts, alongside his son, Andy. He took great pride in mentoring young Scouts teaching them fishing, camping, and a love of the outdoors.

David lived life to its fullest and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed a good cigar, happy hour with family and friends, watching movies, visiting local breweries, and loved to make strawberry shortcake. He had a stubborn streak—but it was the kind that reflected his determination, loyalty, and refusal to give up on the people and things that mattered most.

He was tough, resilient, and faced life with remarkable perseverance. Over the years, he battled eye cancer, prostate cancer, and skin cancer, underwent three heart surgeries, and survived countless other misadventures. Through every challenge, he demonstrated extraordinary persistence and an unbreakable spirit.

Those who knew David will remember —his habit of singing in the mornings, telling us when it’s time to “Explode into Action,” his generosity, and his willingness to help anyone in need.

Visitation and Prayer service will be held at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels in Roselle, Illinois this Friday, August 14th, 2026 from 4pm to 8pm, prayer at 7:00 p.m.
