Denise Mihok, born on June 20, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on November 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love that will be forever remembered by her family and friends. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, Denise was headstrong, resilient, thoughtful and loving and was always willing to do more to help a friend in need.
Denise lived in the Chicagoland area most of her life to stay close to and care for her family. She was the daughter of the late John Macioce and Carol Macioce, who encouraged her love of dance for many years, taking her to practices, auditions and shows up to and through high school. She is survived by her mother, Carol, and her two brothers, John (Kelle) Macioce and Frank (Rhonda) Macioce, who all have fond memories of their time riding horses, laughing and having fun at Woodside Ranch.
Married to Edward Mihok, Denise found love through a blind date set up by her late aunt Lois McBean and created a beautiful family that was the center of her life. Together, they had three wonderful children: BreeAnne (John) Gittings, Alyssa Mihok, and Eddie Mihok, in which she instilled her love of music, arts and crafts, and the attention to detail she was known for. She was a devoted mother, always pushing her children to work harder and be smarter while also supporting them as they navigated life's challenges. She wanted nothing more than for her children to find their own joy, love, and happiness in their own time.
Denise's family extended into many beloved relatives, including her dear aunt, Carol Eldorado, her uncles, Frank (Emma) Vale and George McBean, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who cherished the warmth and laughter she brought with her. She will be remembered by all of her family for her holiday gatherings, in which she worked hard to cook homemade meals for the family and loved showing off her décor. She was especially fond of Christmas and Easter and looked forward to putting up lights and decorations each year.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Denise's life at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels in Roselle, Illinois. The visitation will be held on December 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, allowing all who knew and loved her to gather and share in the stories and moments that defined her life. A prayer service will take place the following morning, December 12, beginning at 9:45 AM. Denise will be honored with a Mass at St. Isidore Parish in Bloomingdale at 10:45 AM.
Denise Mihok's legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. Her kind spirit, unwavering strength, and devotion will continue to inspire those she left behind. Rest in peace, dear Denise; you will be forever missed.
