Edwin Franzen

Edwin Ernest Franzen, 86, of Bloomingdale sadly passed away on June 30, 2023, after living a full life. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Franzen. The were married for 47 years and had an eternal love for each other. Edwin left behind his children, Sue Franzen, Eddie (Shari) Franzen, and Laura (Tony) Luna and grandchildren, Charlie (Marissa), AJ, Emma, Ava, Ryan, Brady, and Chase, along with many other friends and family.

He made spending time with his family and friends a priority and he enjoyed time that was spent with them. In his early years, Edwin worked as an architect in the city of Chicago and admired Frank Lloyd Wright. He also loved to travel and made several trips to Sweden to visit his many relatives. He was also a Girl Scout leader and participated in YMCA programs with his children when they were young. He was an amazing father and always provided unconditional love to his children. He had many stories to tell, and he always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed.

To honor Edwin’s memory, there will be a celebration of life on Saturday, August 12. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either of the following organizations in memory of Edwin.
