Eva Marie Lillge

Eva Marie Lillge, age 85 of Winfield Illinois (formerly living in Lindenhurst Illinois) passed away December
17 th , 2022. Beloved mother to Patricia Dodds (husband Bob Dodds), Yvette Lillge (husband Peter
DiMarzio) and Joris Lillge (wife Lisa Marie Lillge and their three sons: Kyle, Cole and Cody). Eva Marie and
her mother Irmgard, brother Volkmar, and their aunt Sabine, endured a challenging journey traveling
out of Konigsberg, Prussia as refugees and settled in Weddingstedt, Germany. Eva was a survivor of war,
famine and poverty as she left Germany for the United States by plane, abroad the prop driven
Constellation in November 1959, with hopes of a better life. With little money, but driven by hope and
determination, Eva settled in Chicago where she met her husband Joachim Otto Lillge. Later in 1959
they married and had three children. Despite a life of hardships that she had to overcome, she raised
three successful children living in Illinois and Massachusetts.
Eva’s beauty, loving nature, warmth, determination, and resilience will be remembered from this day
forward by her children and grandchildren. Her family is comforted to know she will finally have the rest
in a place full of love, up above.
