In Loving Memory of Florinda Taruc Bonsol

It is with deep sorrow and boundless love that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, mother, and friend, Florinda (“Baby”) Bonsol, who departed this world on May 7, 2025 at the age of 79.

Florinda was born on April 7, 1946 in Pampanga, Philippines to Peregrino M. Taruc and Gloria Aquino. She was the eldest of 9 children but was always called “Baby” by her siblings and immediate relatives. She was also always seeking new experiences, filled with curiosity and eagerness about the world. In college she majored in accounting with dedication and excellence, eventually making her way to the United States in the early 1970s, where she started working at Sargent and Lundy in Chicago, for 27+ years.

She was a hardworking woman, but always found time for the family to go fishing, camping, hosting parties/potlucks, many weekend nights of mahjong, singing karaoke, playing bingo and of course, traveling. Florinda and her husband Poli, resided in Chicago for their first few years in the states, built a house in Bartlett to raise their family, then moved to Las Vegas in 2005 after retiring. She then moved to Frisco, Texas in 2019 with her niece Gemma.

Florinda was a devoted mother whose love knew no bounds, a caring daughter who honored her family, and an older sister who led her siblings by example, bringing her loved ones together across oceans and generations. Her greatest legacy is paving the way for her family to explore opportunities of living in the U.S.A., which she extended to her parents, siblings, nephews, and nieces. This was how generous and caring she was.

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the incredible life she lived and the love she freely gave. Florinda’s memory lives on in our laughter, our shared stories, and the family she so lovingly nurtured.

Florinda is survived by her children: Arnaldo (Katherine) Bonsol, Vicente II (Pam) Bonsol, Leandro (Trisha) Bonsol and Raina (Frank) White; grandchildren: Brandon, Kai Pol, Noella, Sophia, Jonathan, Christianna, Brooklyn, Braelyn, Braden and Bradley; siblings: Erlinda Co, Gloria Taruc, Peregrino Taruc Jr., Fidel Taruc, Amor T. Regis, Greg Taruc, Constantino Taruc and Cezar Taruc. She is preceded in death by her husband Apolinario Bonsol; her parents, Gloria A. Taruc and Peregrino M. Taruc.

A memorial service will be held at Salerno Rosedale Chapel, 450 W. Lake St. Roselle, IL 60172 on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 3:00-9:00pm. All who knew and loved Florinda are welcome to join us in honoring her beautiful life.
