Frank F. Montefalco, age 96, preceded in death by his adored and caring wife Rose (Rosaria), nee Buscemi, whom he loved dearly from the instant they met in 1956. She was the love of his life for 65 years and 81 days of blessed marriage. She was his best friend, soul mate, constant companion, dancing partner and the loving mother of their beautiful children, Joseph F. (Charmaine), Dr. Philip M. (Dr. Amy) and the late Victor J. Montefalco. Frank was the loving son of the late Joseph and Rose Montefalco; Dear brother of Emily, the late Hank Sarnecke and the late Mary (John) Gallione; Adored grandpa of Melissa (Jack), Frank N. (Gianna), Alexandria (Andrew), Dr. Zane M. (Dr. Nicole), Schuyler (Dr. Janessa), Dr. Haven A. (Dr. Claire) and Bella Z. (Dimitrio); Cherished great grandfather of Lilah, Marlowe, Beau, Enzo, Luca and Capri. Frank was devoted to his family and worked hard to achieve his goals.
A CVS graduate where he applied his machinist skills for 35 years at C.T.A Steel Fabrication Shop, fabricating various rail and steel structure components. The last 12 years spent as a Supervisor of the Shop Support Maintenance including escalators/elevators and shop equipment system wide.
A Korean War Veteran achieved the rank of N.C.O. serving overseas with the 7th Army 485th Engineer Combat Battalion and 6 years in the Army Reserve. On August 7, 2019, he was honored as one of the 23 Korean War Veterans on the 93rd Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
A past Grand Knight of the Roselle Pope John Counsel 5732 and a lifetime 4th degree member and winner of the prestigious Victor Cardosi Humanitarian Award from the Diocese of Joliet Chapter. Longtime parishioner of St. Walter Parish. Frank served in many roles supporting the parish as an Usher/Altar Server in his later years. Frank was a long-time resident of Medinah. Frank’s favorite activities included fishing and gardening.
