Frank Thomas Sanzi

Frank Thomas Sanzi, born on June 21, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on January 10, 2026, in Belvidere, Illinois. He leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

For 21 years, Frank dedicated himself to School District 300 as the head of maintenance, ensuring that the schools were in top shape for generations of students. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for life outside of it. Frank was a fantastic cook, known for filling the homes of his family and friends with wonderful aromas and delicious meals. He loved nothing more than to gather those he cherished around the dinner table.

Music was another treasure in Frank's life. An incredibly talented drummer, he played with a spirit that resonated deeply with all who heard him. His beloved wife, Donna Sanzi, served as his loyal roadie for years, sharing countless adventures together in music and life. Their bond was one marked by mutual support, laughter, and deep love.

As a father and grandfather, Frank was the epitome of nurturing warmth. He took immense pride in mentoring his grandkids, encouraging them to dream big and pursue their passions. They will forever remember the joy of sleepovers at Nana and Papa's house, where fun and laughter were always guaranteed, especially since they knew that there would always be Popsicles ready for them.

Frank took pride in being a dedicated son. He cared deeply for his parents, Angelo and Angela Sanzi, with whom he shared a profound bond. His father was not only a parent but also his best friend, while his mother held a special place in his heart as his first love. The love and gratitude he felt for them were evident in everything he did.

Frank's personality was larger than life. With a great sense of humor and an unwavering sense of judgment, he had a unique way of connecting with others. He was quick-witted and, at times, wonderfully stubborn, but his kindness knew no bounds. Frank was not just a husband, father, and papa; he was a friend, a mentor, and a man who could light up a room with his presence.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Donna; his loving daughters, Miranda and Jessica; his son-in-law, Hosea; his cherished mother, Angela; his father, Angelo; his dear sisters, Luciana, Eldora (Douglas), and Teresa; his aunt, Maria; his grandchildren, DJ, Jayceon, Kayden, Jalyssa, Gianna, and Kamari; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Frank joins in eternal rest with his late sister Ginetta; his nephews Christopher, TJ, and Tyson; his grandparents Tomaso and Teresa Sanzi; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Though they may have departed from this world, their memories will continue to echo in the lives of those they left behind.
