Gerald “Gerry” Zych, age 78, died at home November 10, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Loving husband, partner and best friend for 52+ years to Madonna (née Keller). Loving father of George (Brenda) and Geralanne. Loving Papa of Devon and Nicholas. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Gerry is preceded in death by his parents, John and Bernice (née Szeszol) Zych; brothers, Leonard (Elaine), Robert (Patricia), Norbert (Sandra). Deacon of the Archdiocese of Chicago for 33 years, serving at St. Giles Parish in Oak Park and St. Cyprian Parish in River Grove. Gerry was a die-hard Cubs fan and a Star Wars Geek. A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 21, at 10:00 AM at St. Giles Church, 1045 N. Columbian, Oak Park. However, the Mass will be available via live-streamed video for all to participate remotely via the St. Giles website at www.stgilesparish.org. Once connected go to the “St. Giles YouTube Channel – Masses and Messages”. The video will be available live or at any time after the service.
