Gus DeSalvo of St. Charles, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Caroline C. (nee Campione); Devoted father of Steven (Denise), Camille (PierLuigi D’Alesio) and the late Diane DeSalvo; Loving son of the late Frank and Carmela DiSalvo; Dear brother of Frank DiSalvo, and the late Pauline Weidl, Philip, Paul, and Sam DiSalvo; Cherished grandfather of Christopher and Michael (Lauren) DeSalvo, Diane and Dominic D’Alesio; Adored great grandfather of Declan DeSalvo. As a WWII Veteran who proudly served his country in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, Gus garnered (3) Overseas Service Bars, (1) Service Stripe American Campaign Medal, (1) Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with (1) Bronze Battle Star, a Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. It was this experience that molded Gus into a willful and hard-working family man who only wanted the very best for his loved ones and friends. Visitation Wednesday, December 1st from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. at St. Cyprian Church, 2601 N. Clinton, River Grove. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
