Helen Koszczuk

Helen Koszczuk, born on July 21, 1924, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family and community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Al, and her cherished siblings, Lottie, Ches, and Mary.

Helen was a loving mother and grandmother, who was proud of her three daughters: Dianne (Craig) Gurney, Janet (Bob) Salach, and Georgette (Chuck) Schroeder. Her devotion to her family was evident in the warm, nurturing environment she created. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Rob (Tiffanie) Salach, Jennifer (Dan) Watkiss, Kristen (Bill) Flinchum, and Brian (Meghan) Gurney, who will carry her memory in their hearts and stories. Helen also adored her nine great-grandchildren: Addison, Grace, Kenneth, Brendon, Annabelle, Eddie, Brynn, Hannah and Rhys who were a constant source of joy in her life.

Family ties extended beyond her children and grandchildren to her sister, Patricia (Richard) Backer, who remained a steadfast presence in her life. Helen's relationships were grounded in love and support, fostering bonds that spanned generations.

A visitation honoring Helen's life will take place on June 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake St, Roselle, IL 60172. Following the visitation, a Mass will be celebrated at St Isidore Parish at 427 W Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale, IL 60108, beginning at 10:45 AM.

Helen Koszczuk will be remembered not only for her contributions as a devoted family member but also for the warmth and kindness she shared with those around her. Her spirit lives on in the memories of her family and friends, who will continue to honor her life and values.
