Jeffrey Truppo, 51, passed away on April 15th at 8:47 PM, surrounded by the love of his family.
His heart had been failing for some years, when it finally went quiet, it went out the only way Jeff ever did anything — full and on his own terms. He didn’t give up. His heart did.
Jeff was the kind of man who could light up a room without even trying. Known for his quick wit, mischievous grin, and a laugh that was impossible not to join in on, he had a gift for making everyone around him feel like they were in on the joke — and sometimes, they were the joke. He was fiercely dedicated, a little stubborn, and always showing up. A natural prankster with a generous spirit, Jeff lived for the good moments — backyard BBQs, cold beers, watching the Sox — and making ordinary moments feel like the ones you’d talk about for years.
He had a nickname for everyone in his life — ones he made up himself — and if he gave you one, you knew you had a place in his heart.
But beneath the laughter and the antics was a man of extraordinary kindness and generosity. Jeff gave freely — his time, his humor, his heart — and those who knew him best knew that his playfulness was just one expression of how deeply he loved the people in his life.
He is survived by his parents, Irene and Jim Truppo; his oldest sister, Barb Reyes (Ignacio); and his little sister, Jennifer Truppo. Also survived by his Uncle Johnny (his godfather) and Aunt Sue as well as cousins: Jonathan, Samantha, Jennifer and Kevin.
Jeff, you were one of a kind. There will never be another like you. Until we meet again, we’ll see you in our dreams.
