Jim Brewer, a distinguished Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner in the Chicagoland area for over 60, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025. Born on December 2, 1945, Jim dedicated his professional life to serving clients with integrity and expertise, building a reputation as a trusted advisor in his field.
Jim's educational background laid a strong foundation for his career, having graduated from St. Patrick High School in 1963 and subsequently earning his degree from DePaul University in 1968, both institutions in Chicago. His commitment to lifelong learning and professional development was evident throughout his esteemed career.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jim had a deep spiritual connection, actively participating in the Cursillo program within the Diocese of Joliet. This commitment to his faith illustrated his dedication to personal growth and community service.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (nee Fenton), with whom he shared 51 years of love and partnership. Jim was a proud father to T.J. (Magdalena) Brewer and Kevin Brewer (Partner of Diana Brahm), who carry forward his legacy. He was also cherished as a brother-in-law to Mary (late Richard) Verduin, Pat (Janet) Fenton, Peggy (late Robert) Holland, and Joseph Fenton. Jim was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, nurturing family bonds that will continue to thrive in his memory.
Visitation will be held on November 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake St, Roselle, IL 60172. A Mass to honor Jim's life will take place on November 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, situated at 1415 W Lies Rd, Carol Stream, IL 60188.
Jim Brewer will be deeply missed by all who knew him, as he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, professionalism, and unwavering family devotion. His contributions to both his profession and community set a remarkable standard that will inspire future generations.
