John Columbia

John Columbia, born on August 8, 1935, passed away on August 10, 2025. He was a man who lived his life fully, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love for his family.

John was known for his storytelling ability, often captivating those around him with tales from his life. His attention to detail reflected his nature as a well-organized perfectionist, traits that he applied not only to his work but also to his relationships. John took great pride in being the caretaker of his family, always ensuring their needs were met before his own. His selflessness and dedication were evident to all who knew him.

Above all, John adored his wife, Phyllis, with whom he shared countless moments of joy and companionship. Together, they nurtured a loving environment that extended to their children, Mario Columbia and Caterina (Pietro) Maragliotti. His role as a father was one of his proudest accomplishments, fostering a close-knit family relationship that thrived on love and respect.

John was blessed with grandchildren who were a significant part of his life. Joseph (Rebecca), John, Frank (Gianna) Maragliotti and Danielle Columbia, brought him immense joy. The arrival of great-grandchildren further enriched his life, with Jonathan Arroyo, Joseph, Vincenzo, Giuliana, and Alessia Maragliotti becoming a source of pride and happiness for him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, his children Mario and Caterina, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his nurturing spirit and warmth.

John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mariano and Caterina Columbia, and siblings Joseph, Ross, Frank, Santina, and Josephine. Their memories surely live on in the stories he shared and the values he instilled in those he loved.

As we remember John Columbia, let us celebrate a life dedicated to caring for others and honoring the bonds of family. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
