John Macioce, 88, of Prospect Hts., IL, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. He was born on October 9, 1936, in Chicago, IL, son of the late John and Edith Macioce.

John attended Barber School and started his career with Touhy Barber Shop and eventually bought the shop. He built a distinguished career leaving a lasting impact on customers with excellent service and personal attention, even going to customers homes to cut their hair when they were sick. He cut hair as “John the Barber” for over 57 years.

In 1955, John met the love of his life, Carol, and they were wed in 1957.  John and Carol went on to have 3 children, John, Denise and Frank.

Throughout his life he loved to play golf, cards and to travel. His favorite saying was “Who’s the ramrod of this place.” His happiest moments were spending time with his children, grandchildren and his family.

John is survived by his wife Carol, his three children John (Kelle) Macioce, Denise (Edward) Mihok, Frank (Rhonda) Macioce and his six grandchildren, John (Amanda) Macioce, BreeAnne (John) Gittings, Alyssa Mihok, Eddie Mihok, Ariana Macioce, Tia Macioce, his great grandson, Roman Macioce, his sister Carol (Eldorado) and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Salerno’s Rosedale Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Lake St. Roselle, IL with a Chapel Service to follow from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM before procession to Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside, IL.
