John Patzelt, January 14, 1954 – February 15, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Patzelt, who departed this life on February 15, 2026, at the age of 72. John was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where he graduated from Weber High School.
John was the beloved son of the late Joseph Patzelt and Margaret (Dillon) Patzelt. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Cynthia (Serek) Patzelt; his brothers, Ray (Evelyn) and Joe (Tammi); and his cherished nieces and nephews, Mickey, Patrick, Joey, Alyssa, Jake, Tommy and Lisa. He was also a proud great-uncle to Madelyn, Adrianna, Mia, Eliana, Kassidy, and Nathan and will be fondly remembered by many cousins and dear friends.
John dedicated 41 years of service to United Parcel Service (UPS), where he built a respected and lasting career. He was also a proud member and Union Steward of Teamsters Local 705, serving his fellow workers with commitment and integrity.
John will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, kindness, and light he brought into the lives of all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Salerno Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W. Lake St., Roselle, IL 60172. Funeral Service Saturday, February 21, 2026, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in John’s memory.
