ADDISON – Joseph Barca, age 81. Beloved husband of 58 years to Beverly (nee Willer). Cherished father of Laura Ann (Vincent) Pacelli and Alan Luke (Linda) Barca. Loving grandfather of Natalie Ann and Angela Marie. Dear brother to the late Frank (the late Marie), the late Michael (Vita) and Nick (Anna). Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and cousin to numerous throughout the family. To countless people throughout his life, he was a devoted friend. In 1954, he traveled by boat to Ellis Island welcoming the opportunity to become a United States Citizen. He met and married Beverly and they had two children. His lifelong devotion to his family was clearly matched by that of his loving wife. Born in Ceglie del Campo, Bari, Italy to Luca and Anna (nee Perrino), Joe grew into a young man that quickly became intrigued with electricity and the internal workings of engines and motors. He learned to excel at a wide variety of tasks and trades and became a masterful problem-solver. Perhaps his greatest strengths were his passion for work, his willingness to learn and his single-minded pursuit of a job well-done. He will be most remembered for his large personality, willingness to share and how he connected warmly and freely with those around him. Funeral Tuesday, Nov. 29, lying in state from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 1223 W. Holtz Road, Addison, IL 60101. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
