Joe made 7 initial invasions bringing the Marines and heavy artillery to the islands of the South Pacific serving on a landing ship tank; LST 585 Beloved husband of Frances nee: Mirro; Devoted father of James (Vickie nee: Herrmann) Davis, IL-Summerset, Theresa “Terri” (Richard Toole) DeFranco of Cincinnati, OH and the late Ralph “Skip” DeFranco of Plainfield, IL; Loving Grandpa of Elizabeth Toole, Rebecca Toole, Diana Debartolo, Louis Debartolo; Adored Great Grandfather of many; Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.
