Lillian Navarro

Lillian V. Navarro, 91, passed away on August 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is the oldest of the 6 children of Martin and Apolonia Vallejera. 

Lillian was a beloved wife, sister, Tita, aunt, grand aunt, Manang, Ate, cousin, and friend. She will be remembered for her warmth, her generous heart and the many ways she made those around her feel cared for and welcome. 

She had been working as a Nurse since she graduated in Central Philippine University in the Philippines in 1965 until 5 years ago when her health declined and compelled her to stop working. She migrated to United States in 1972 and had been working in the US since then. 

Lillian shared nearly 40 years of marriage with her husband Francisco (Frank) Navarro, who preceded her in death in 2008. Having no child, she had been very attached to her nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. 

She had a special gift for bringing people together through food. She loved to cook Filipino dishes and happiest when preparing meals and treats for her family and friends. 

In her younger years, she had loves to knit but later abandoned the hobby and instead played Majong with friends and relatives. Her greatest joy was the family gathering when she can interact with every one and share their experiences. She loves browsing through a store simply to get out of the house and enjoy her surroundings. She was a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. 

She leaves behind a legacy of cherished family traditions, Filipino heritage, faith, generosity and love. Though Lillian will be deeply missed, her warmth, her faith and the love she so freely gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 

May she rest in peace and love, now and always.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Lillian's life during a visitation on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 3:00-9:00 p.m. at Salerno Rosedale Chapels in Roselle, Illinois.
