Loretta Orcutt – September 3, 2026 Loretta Orcutt, 77, beloved wife of 54 years to Steve Orcutt, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of September 3, 2026, after a courageous eleven-month battle against cancer. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her son, Darren (Dee) Orcutt and their children, Adrian, Connor and Owen; her daughter, Shawna (Tom) Vaclavek, and their children, Broderick, Colton, and Raegan; her brother-in-law, Dick (Jan) Orcutt; her nephew Scott (Stacy) Orcutt and their daughter, Bailey; and her sister, Gloria Jean  (Sister Bernadette) Rael, who lives in Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Alfred Rael, and her son, Matthew. Loretta attended St. Joseph’s High School in Denver, Colorado where she graduated in 1967. Loretta met Steve at the University of Colorado, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in 1971. Loretta and Steve moved to Illinois from Denver in 1982 and lived in Bloomingdale for the last 44 years. Loretta lived a beautiful life centered around her family and was an exceptionally wonderful Wife, Mother and Grandmother. As she did with all things throughout her life, Loretta courageously faced her illness with unforgettable fortitude, resilience, and grace. Her sense of humor, infinite warmth, love, and guidance will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored her. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 3rd , from 12 to 4 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St., in Roselle. A final Mariachi serenade to, and in honor of, Loretta and her Mexican Heritage will take place at approximately 2 p.m. a Pastoral Reflection will take place at approximately 3 p.m. by Dr. Walt Peacock.
