Domenica Pedota

Domenica Pedota, a cherished matriarch, passed away on February 7, 2026. Born on December 6, 1933, Domenica lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family. Domenica was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank. Her warmth and strength touched the hearts of those around her, leaving an indelible mark that will be forever treasured.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Nancy (Claudio) Pontarelli, Nelly (Michael) Cozzone, and Frances (Jerome) O'Brien. Each daughter's heart carries cherished memories of their mother, who was their guiding light and eternal source of love. Domenica's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Danielle (Erik) Tatje, Jacqueline (Kyle) Arnold, Anthony Pontarelli, Nicholas (Anna Tassi) Cozzone, and Lauren (Jamie Kuna) O'Brien; the joy she brought to their lives will never be forgotten. As proud Bisnonna to Luca, Ariana, Nico, Vincent, and Sienna, her spirit will also live on in the lives of her great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will remember her with fondness.

Proud member of the Maria SS Di Constantinopoli for over 50 years, Domenica demonstrated her unwavering faith and commitment to her community. Her hands, expertly skilled in sewing, were always busy creating beautiful pieces that not only adorned her home but were infused with love. Domenica often found joy in cooking, delighting her family with traditional meals, and gathering around the table, where stories and memories were shared over delicious food.

Domenica shared many cherished moments praying the rosary, playing cards, crafting, and sharing special moments with her friends. Yet, above all, she cherished her moments spent with family, each gathering a testament to the bonds she nurtured throughout her life.

Domenica was preceded in death by her three brothers, Tony, Vincenzo, and Michele who now reunite in eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to honor Domenica's life on February 11, 2026 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, located at 551 N Rush St, Itasca, IL 60143. Visitation will begin promptly at 9:00 AM, immediately followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM.

In celebrating the life of Domenica Pedota, we embrace the love she so freely gave and the lessons she imparted. Her memory will continue to inspire and brighten the lives of all who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, both near and far.
