Marshall L. Gray, Jr., born on May 11, 1939, in Waltham, Massachusetts, passed away on June 14, 2025, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of dedication and service. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Marshall enjoyed a distinguished 53-year career with Malow Corporation and Kent H. Landsberg Corporation, showcasing his unwavering commitment to his profession. In addition to this, he spent two years as a trader for the Chicago Board of Trade, where his analytical skills and keen insight were greatly valued.

His passions extended beyond the confines of work; he was an avid hockey player, having competed at Norwych College in Vermont. Marshall’s legacy in the sport continues as he was instrumental in starting the hockey program at St. Viator Catholic High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois, inspiring countless young athletes.

In 1964, Marshall and his family relocated from Waltham, Massachusetts, to Rolling Meadows, Illinois. His connection to the community grew stronger as he dedicated 23 years of service as a volunteer fireman with the Rolling Meadows Fire Department. His commitment to public service was further exemplified through his roles as trustee and member of the Pension Board for the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District, as well as serving as the chairman of the foundation for Glen Oaks Hospital.

Marshall is survived by his loving wife, Sandie (nee Daye), with whom he shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his son, Marshall L. (Kathy) Gray III, and his daughter, Lisa (Jim) Aigner. His grandchildren—Steven (Ryann), Marissa Gray, Shane Aigner, and Chad Aigner—held a special place in his heart, and he relished the time spent with them. He is remembered by his siblings, Russell (Ginny) Bennett and Sally (late Dick) Bennett, along with many adored nieces and nephews who regarded him as a beloved uncle.

Marshall was predeceased by his brothers David (late Cleo) and Tom (Suzanne), who will be welcoming him with open arms.

The memorial gathering will be held on June 21, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake St, Roselle, Illinois, 60172. The memorial service will follow from 3:00 PM at the same location.

Marshall L. Gray, Jr. lived a life characterized by service, achievement, and devotion to family, and his spirit will continue to resonate within the lives he touched.
