Maureen Sei

Maureen Sei, 91, passed away on July 14th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable stories. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lorry Sei; her parents, George and Marge Johncours; and her three younger brothers, George, John, and Ed. Maureen was fun-loving, strong-willed, and wonderfully goofy. She loved to laugh and enjoy life. She had a special love for Elvis Presley, trips to her “second home” in Las Vegas, and playing the slots—always certain the next spin would be the one. And, of course, she was rarely without her Diet Pepsi. She was the loving mother of Debbie (Alex) Liu, Cindy (late Frank) Iori, Larry (Madelyn) Sei, and Keith (Brenda) Sei; cherished grandmother to Nicki Liu, Christina (Jimmy) Vasilakos, Katie (Tommy) Waddell, Stephanie (Tim) Hester, Adrienne (Josh) Dymacek, Joe Sei, Melissa (Kevin) Derossett, Ashley (Kyle Brainard) Sei, and Lorenzo Sei; and proud great-grandmother to Easton, Dani, Kade, Thomas, Beckham, Maddie, Frankie, Hayden, Nolan, Giuliana, Logan, Greyson, and Charlotte. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Sam (late Joanne) Sei, sister-in-law Carol Johncours, and dear aunt to George Johncours. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Jean, Jenny, and the entire staff at The Pearl of Elgin for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 20th at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel from 8:00–10:00 a.m., with an 11:00 a.m. Mass to follow at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin. Maureen will be deeply missed. We take comfort imagining her now—laughing, a little bossy, Diet Pepsi in hand, listening to Elvis, and finally hitting that jackpot.
