A TRUE FRIEND IS A FRIEND INDEED

Michael David Banks Jr. transitioned to glory Wednesday September 2nd 2020, at his home in Los Angeles California. He started his journey here on earth on January 25th 1992 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois born to parents Delana Marie Banks (Thomas and Barbara Jean Powell) and Michael David Banks Sr (Audrey and Fred Banks- deceased) and continued his adolescent and adult life in Hanover Park IL. Michael attended Prairieview Elementary, Eastview Middle School, and Bartlett High School where he excelled in basketball and football and was awarded a full basketball scholarship to attend Central Methodist University in Fayette Missouri. He later obtained his Bachelors’ Degree of Business Management from Robert Morris College in 2017. His passion was music and making music videos.
Mike’s tenacious spirit and infectious sense of humor affected everyone around him. A close friend once said, “Once you met Mike you would never forget his smile, zest for life and generosity.” Mike could make anyone laugh hysterically as he was a big jokester. He was always generous with his time, money, or whatever support anyone wanted or needed. He had a heart of gold.
Mike’s heartbeats were his three children Nahlaya, Irie and Michael III. He loved his children with such intensity. Family was very important to him.
Mike is survived by his 3 children Nahlaya, Irie and Michael David III, his parents Michael and Delana Banks, brother-Christopher Thomas Banks, maternal grandparents Thomas and Barbara Powell, paternal grandparents Audrey Banks (Fred Banks Sr – deceased) , his Aunts Lavendar Powell and Angela Banks, his Uncle Fred Banks II – deceased, first cousins, Amia Akwiwu, Brenda Banks, Fred Banks III and countless number of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
