Sunday, September 25th, marked the passing of legendary Chicago-area entertainer, Nick Russo. Nick’s music has touched the lives of many people, with a career that spanned the past 40+ years. From Giannotti’s, to the Redhead, to Jilly’s, Chicago’s famous Drake Hotel, and many more, Nick’s smooth voice, swinging jazz, and big-band sound never failed to bring a room to their feet. Over the years Nick shared the stage with various celebrities, including Paul Anka, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Buddy Greco, Don Rickles, Billy Joel, and many other names from sports, TV, music & movies. Nick’s legacy extended far beyond his music, and his memory will live on through his loving wife and best friend Edie, his 6 children – Theresa, Deliah, Anthony (Samantha), Nick Jr., Frank, and Annamarie, his 2 grandchildren, Vinny and Angelo, and a list of friends that won’t fit on this page. He was the best husband, father, Papa, and friend anyone could ever ask for, and he’ll be missed by all. Funeral Thursday 9:30 a.m. at Salerno’s Galewood Chapels, 1857 N.
