Patricia M. Angelino, a former dedicated labor and delivery nurse and cherished member of her community, passed away on May 4, 2026, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Born on October 26, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, Patricia devoted her life to caring for others and enriching the lives of those around her.
Patricia’s commitment to nursing was marked by her successful completion of nursing school, followed by earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She devoted several years to working as a labor and delivery nurse until her retirement in 1995, where she distinguished herself through compassionate care and unwavering dedication to new mothers and their babies.
Beyond her professional achievements, Patricia was known for her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit. She was an avid game player, spending many days and nights at Encore Village, where she enjoyed playing games and cards with friends. Her enthusiasm for Wii bowling, including achieving a perfect 300 game, was a source of pride and joy that brought laughter and camaraderie to many.
Patricia’s nurturing character extended deeply into her family life. She found great joy in knitting for her friends, children, and grandchildren, a testament to her thoughtful and caring nature. The integral role she played in the upbringing of her grandchildren spoke volumes about the love and commitment she held for family. She was especially proud of her beloved grandchildren: Madeleine (Kieran), Nicholas, Allison, Philip, and Katharine.
Her sense of community was reflected in her passionate involvement with the Elk Grove Senior Center, where she not only participated but also served in leadership roles, driven by her genuine affection for the organization and its members.
Patricia is survived by her sons Andrew (Jennifer) and Joseph Angelino, as well as her grandchildren Madeleine, Nicholas, Allison, Philip, and Katharine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Angelino Jr, her mother, Helen (nee Kijak) Galuszka; her father, Andrew Galuszka; and her brothers Harry, Alfred, and Richard.
