Phillip D'Alessandro Sr., a devoted family man and skilled sheet metal worker, passed away peacefully at his home in Addison, Illinois, on April 13, 2026. Born on October 17, 1934, in Collarmele, Abruzzo, Phillip lived a life marked by hard work, enduring love, and deep connections with those around him.
Phillip dedicated 44 years of his life to his profession as a sheet metal worker, a career that demonstrated his commitment, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic. Following his retirement, he embraced a fulfilling 30 years of well-earned rest, during which he enjoyed the simple and meaningful pleasures of life.
A man of many interests, Phillip found joy in the outdoors and cherished the summers spent gardening. His passion extended to making and savoring his own homemade wine, as well as crafting homemade sausage—a testament to his appreciation for tradition and quality. These hobbies enriched his life and brought warmth to the many gatherings he hosted.
Family was of paramount importance to Phillip. He took immense pride in being married to his beloved wife, Onelia, for 73 years. Their enduring partnership was a cornerstone of his life, filled with mutual support and unwavering devotion. Phillip was a loving father to Ferdinando, Phillip and Lynn(daughter-in-law), Kelly(daughter-in-law) and Livio and Giovanna(daughter-in-law), sharing countless moments together and raising them with care and guidance. He also fondly remembered his son Steve and daughter-in-law Debbie, who preceded him in death.
His joy extended to his grandchildren Michelle, Melanie, Victoria, Jason, Tyler, Jessica, and Joseph, as well as his great-grandchildren Ashley, Landen, Angel, Kaleb, Leah, Sam, Lucy, Evelyn, Warner, and Maria. The time he spent with these family members around the dinner table, sharing meals and lively conversations, remains one of the most cherished aspects of his life, embodying his love for connection and community.
Phillip’s presence was a steady and comforting force among family and friends, characterized by warm hospitality and thoughtful discussions. The memories he leaves behind are a testament to a life lived with generosity, kindness, and an enduring spirit.
Services to honor Phillip’s life will be held at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake St, Roselle, IL 60172, on April 18, 2026. A Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by another service beginning at 11:00 a.m. until noon. These moments will provide an opportunity for all who knew him to pay their respects and celebrate the profound impact he made.
Phillip D'Alessandro Sr.’s legacy is one of steadfast dedication—to his family, his work, and the joys of life’s simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His life stands as a lasting tribute to the values he held dear and the love that surrounded him until the very end.
