Remedios “Remie” Catan Dela Cruz, 83, passed peacefully on October 17, 2022. She was born to Marianito and Magdelena Catan on February 15 1939 in Lopez, Quezon Philippines. Remie was one of the first graduates of Quezon Memorial Hospital’s School of Nursing in 1960. She then decided to move to the United States in 1967, to participate in a nursing exchange program located in Waukegan, IL. She finally retired after 45 years of nursing at the Diamond Headache unit at St. Joseph Hospital of Chicago. Remedios has joined her parents, Marianito and Magdalena, brother, Reynaldo “Rene”, and sister, Rosita in heaven. She is survived by her only daughter Noela (Eddie Tolentino), her grandchildren Justin, Abigail, and Mia, and many nieces and nephews.
