Expressions of a Thankful Heart:

Ricardo, as a child and adult, warmed your heart with his wonderful smile and loving ways. Ricardo was born April 16, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents Mattie Lou and Frank Smith; siblings: Marcia, Albert, Kenneth, Rapheal; and nephew Edward Smith. Approximately one year ago by the Grace and Love of God, Ricardo expressed his feelings in writing, what he wanted to share with family and friends. The following is Ricardo’s expression of a thankful heart to those he cared and loved:

“I would like to thank the Lord for everyone He put in my life, all believers. I thank them and I thank # 1 God All Mighty and His Son Jesus Christ. I’m thankful for all of my friends and Union Brothers and Sisters for the light they brought to my life. God Bless You All. And, to my devoted and always caring wife (of 24 years) to me and family, Carolyn Clark Johnson. Thank You.

I also thank my:

  • Children: Anthony Bullock; Marcus and Dana Clark,
  • Others that I’m especially thankful for are my: Sister-In-Law Joyce Norals and Daughter Kiara, Brother and Sister-In-Law Marvin and Sandra Carter and son Matthew; Thank you all,
  • My Grandmother, Gra Ma aka Mrs. Ware the angel of my life,
  • My “Morgan Park High School” Friends: Wilbur aka Daddio, Steve aka Reno, Ray aka Sugar,
  • All my co-workers.
  • I love you all. God bless you.”

These are Ricardo words; the words of a man with a Thankful Heart.

Ricardo, we love you too and are so thankful we were blessed to know and be with you. Rest well and know we will miss you. Until we meet again, Blessings.

Ricardo departed his earthly home and entered his heavenly place of rest on        June 1, 2025 after his courageous and difficult battle with cancer (surrounded by his wife and several dear family members). He leaves behind his loving Wife Carolyn; *Children: Anthony Bullock, Marcus (Victoria) and Dana (Matt Baugh); *Grandchildren: Peyton, Meagan and EJ; Brothers: Anthony and Phillip and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

*He Always Loved Them All Like His Own.

God Bless You All.
