In Loving Memory of Richard F. Ptak

Richard F. Ptak, age 83, passed away leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Born and raised in Chicago, Richard built a life centered around the people he loved most. He worked in sales in the food industry and was known as a fun-loving, caring man and a friend to many. Above all, family was everything to Richard.

Richard shared a beautiful, lifelong love with his wife, Mary Kay, his high school sweetheart, who preceded him in death. The two shared a special bond, and Richard loved nothing more than spending his time with her. Their love was a meaningful part of his life and a lasting example of devotion and companionship.

Richard was a proud father to his sons, Michael and Robert, and a fun-loving papa to Kyle, Nicholas, and Casey. He loved playing basketball and watching his sons play sports. His love for cheering on his family continued into his years as a grandfather (papa), when he never missed a game for his grandsons. He was equally proud to watch his granddaughter dance and loved being there to support her. These moments with his family were among his greatest joys.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Kay; his sister, Sharon (Forest); and his parents, Henry and Genevieve.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Sharri) and Robert; his grandchildren, Kyle, Nicholas, and Casey; and many dear friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Richard will be remembered for his loving heart, his fun-loving spirit, his devotion to his family, and the countless memories he created with those closest to him. He was fortunate to have a close-knit group of friends who remained an important part of his life for many years. Whether gathering for a special occasion, playing cards, or simply enjoying each other’s company, those friendships brought him years of laughter, joy and wonderful memories. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Richard's greatest legacy is the love he shared, the family he cherished, and the memories that will never be forgotten.
