Robert "Bob" Rizzo, a man remembered for his easygoing nature, generous spirit, and deep love for family, passed away on June 18, 2026. Born on November 2, 1965, Bob's life was marked by a genuine kindness and an infectious sense of humor that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Bob’s professional journey was one of dedication and passion. He spent several years in the printing industry before finding his true calling in the Door and Hardware business. As a Sales and Service Technician at Classic Hardware & Trudoor, he thrived and found immense satisfaction in his work, dedicating many years to a career that brought him both pride and fulfillment.
Beyond his professional life, Bob was known as a laid-back, easygoing prankster who could strike up a conversation with anyone. His playful spirit was complemented by a profound love for animals and a unique enthusiasm for decorating for Halloween, which he lovingly dedicated hours to each year. Those who knew Bob recall his warm presence and his uncanny ability to bring joy and laughter into any room.
Family and sports held a special place in Bob’s heart. He cherished coaching his son Nicholas through basketball at Upward in his younger years and later supporting him in Lake Park Hockey, fostering a love for the game that they shared deeply. Bob enjoyed watching the Stanley Cup games, relishing the excitement and camaraderie of hockey seasons with his loved ones.
Bob is lovingly survived by his sons, Nicholas Rizzo (and Marina) Nate Lindgren (and Jessika), his stepdaughter Samantha Black (and Marty), and his grandchildren Jaxson, Finlee, and Pyper. He also leaves behind his best friend and ex-wife Sandy, his sister Tina (and Brian), and his brother Joe.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Rizzo, his mother, Patricia Pasquale, and his aunt Jeannie Lane. Their memory lives on alongside Bob’s, in the hearts of all who cherished him.
Visitation to honor and remember Bob will be held on June 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W Lake St in Roselle, Illinois. A further service will take place on June 23, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding by noon at the same location.
