Emblem

Robert “Bob” J. Majkszak, age 77, passed away peacefully at home in Bloomingdale, Illinois, on October 4, 2026. Born on August 21, 1949, in Chicago, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose steady presence and generous spirit enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Bob carried strength, dedication, and commitment throughout his life—qualities reflected in his service in the United States Air Force and in the way he approached each day thereafter. Recently Bob was honored to be recognized on the Chicago Honor Flight, a moment that deeply moved him and stood as a meaningful acknowledgment of his service. He spent 33 years working at Panasonic, where he not only built a career but also formed friendships that remained deeply meaningful to him. His time with the company took him to Japan, where he embraced the culture, learned from it, and grew to genuinely enjoy it. The respect, curiosity, and appreciation he developed during those experiences became a lasting part of his personality.

A true handyman, Bob was the person family and friends called whenever something needed fixing. There was little he couldn’t repair, build, or figure out, and he offered his skills freely. His dependable nature and willingness to help made him a source of comfort and support to many. Bob also passed down a strong work ethic to his children, teaching them by example to work hard, take responsibility, and always follow through.

Bob found joy in the things he loved most: cheering for the Chicago Bears and the Schaumburg Boomers, spending time around cars, relaxing on beaches beneath palm trees, and soaking in the warm Florida sun. He was deeply devoted to his Catholic faith, carrying that devotion with him throughout his life.

Above all, Bob cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Majkszak; his children, Lawrence (Sherry) Majkszak, Denise (Joe) Tazelaar, and Renee (Dan) Billish; his sister, Madeleine (Robert) Bogdanowicz; and his treasured grandchildren, Ethan, Trevor, Maxwell, Lexi, Thomas, Lincoln, and Cayden, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family members and many dear friends. The love he shared with his family—and the reliability and care he showed them every day—will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Frances Majkszak; and his brother, Joseph Majkszak.
