Rosa Favia

Rosa Favia, a devoted housewife and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026. Born on August 3, 1933, in the historic city of Bari, Italy. Rosa’s life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.

As the loving wife of the late Nicola "Nick" Favia, Rosa shared a deep and enduring partnership that anchored her throughout her life. Their years together were filled with countless memories and a love that shaped the foundation of the family she so tenderly nurtured.

Rosa was more than a mother; she was the heart of her family. She embraced her role as a housewife with grace and selflessness, transforming her home into a haven of warmth and joy. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family—she was instrumental in aiding those who left their families behind in Italy, helping them adapt to a new life in America. In doing so, Rosa became a second mother to many, a guiding light and steady presence in times of need.

Her devotion touched the lives of  25 Godchildren, whom she cherished and supported throughout their lives. Rosa’s affection and guidance made her a beloved Godmother, reflecting her generous and open heart.

A consummate hostess, Rosa delighted in entertaining. Renowned for her incredible culinary talents, she could whip up a magnificent seven-course meal in mere minutes, bringing joy and comfort through her cooking. In her later years, her home became a sanctuary for her friends who had lost their spouses—a place of solace, laughter and shared memories over many cups of espresso.

Rosa’s faith was a central pillar in her life. She was deeply devoted to Jesus and Our Blessed Mother, finding strength and peace in her spirituality that radiated into every aspect of her being.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Michael Favia and his wife Pat, Anna Favia and Maria Greico and her husband Paul. Her legacy blooms through her grandchildren—Cristina Favia, Nicholas Greico and his wife Shannon, Nicole Favia, Carina Culjak and her husband Tony and Angelina Greico—as well as her cherished great-grandchildren: Anna Joy Greico, Lily Jean Greico and Dominic Carlo Culjak. She also leaves behind her brother- Domenico Signorile and his wife Rosa.  Each carries forward Rosa’s light, kindness and enduring love.

In this time of grief, her family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support and love. Though Rosa has departed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose lives she so profoundly touched with her boundless affection and strength.
