Ruthann Bargmann (Benhart), beloved sister, cherished aunt, and loving cousin, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2026. Born at home on August 22, 1941, Ruth lived a life filled with love, dedication, and joyful moments, bringing happiness to all who knew her.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bargmann; her parents, Gladys and Harold Benhart; her brothers, Ronald, Chuck, and Allen Benhart; and her niece, Laura Benhart. She is survived by her sister, Karen Dickenscheidt (Ken); her sisters-in-law, Gail Benhart and Arlene Benhart; as well as her nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members.
Ruth had a fulfilling career, spending many years at Shell Oil in Houston, Texas, before returning to Roselle, where she served as an aide for the local bus company. Her commitment to service extended beyond her professional life, as she was a constant presence in her family’s lives, always celebrating milestones and achievements.
Throughout her life, Ruth cultivated a deep love for her family, which remained her utmost priority. She was always there to lend a helping hand, rarely seeking assistance in return. Ruth was known for her ability to fix almost anything, often armed with nothing but determination and duct tape. She had an infectious spirit, a quick wit, a generous heart, and a knack for making everyone laugh. Her love for life was showcased in her enjoyment of outdoor activities such as camping and fishing, where she proudly caught the biggest fish at Encore. She also had a passion for crafting in many different ways, which brought her immense joy.
Ruth’s love for the holidays was profound; they were occasions she cherished as opportunities to come together with family and create lasting memories. Simple joys like Pepsi, apple slices, and raisin dressing were always on the holiday table. Her final two years were spent indulging in her favorite pastimes and reflecting on life’s blessings with gratitude.
A private family memorial was held to honor Ruth’s life on February 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church, where her legacy of love and family will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
Ruthann Bargmann will be remembered by her family and friends for the unwavering love she shared with all who knew her.
