Susan M. Ball

Susan M. Ball, 83, of Addison, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025. She was born on August 8, 1941, in Chicago to the late Arnold and Blanche Blankenmeister. Susan was the beloved partner of 37 years to Ken Backhaus; loving mother of Kimberly (Michael) Reda, Steven (Beth) Ball, (from her marriage to the late Michael Ball Jr); cherished grandmother of Brandon and Stephanie Reda, Sarah, Emma, and Erin Ball; dear sister of Joan Franks and the late Delores Boswell, Marge Schnepel, and Donna Barrett; fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Susan will be remembered as a kind-hearted, generous, and warm personality who loved to laugh. She enjoyed fishing, boating, reading, and walking on the beach. She was the proudest of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with, attending their activities, and vacationing together. Susan’s legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know her.
