Sylvia P. Georgean

Sylvia P. Georgean, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on March 5, 1939, Sylvia's life was a tapestry of love, generosity, and care that touched the lives of all who knew her.

In her professional career, Sylvia dedicated many years to Motorola, where her work exemplified dedication and excellence. Those she worked alongside recall her as a hardworking team member who always brought a spirit of positivity to the workplace.

Sylvia was known for her warm and nurturing personality. She was described as very caring, sweet, and generous—a true friend to many. Her ability to make everyone feel special and valued left a lasting impression on the hearts of those she met.

Sylvia is survived by her many nieces and nephews, along with many great nieces and nephews, and God children who cherished her affection and wisdom. They carry forward her legacy of kindness and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Susie and Peter Georgean, her beloved husband Theodore Skafidas, and her siblings: Helen, Nick, Mary, John, Irene and her twin Ernest. Sylvia's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she will be remembered not only for her familial bonds but also for the warmth and love she freely shared with those around her.

A funeral service to honor Sylvia’s life will be held on December 5, 2025, at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, located at 601 S Central Ave, Chicago, IL 60644. The service will begin at 12:00 PM, following a visitation starting at 11:30 AM. Sylvia’s contributions to her family, friends, and community will be celebrated as those who love her gather to pay their final respects.
